World Health Organization Official Name For Novel Coronavirus

The World Health Organization officially name the disease that kills and infected many people in China, Novel Coronavirus  as COVID19. The “co” refers to “corona”, the “vi” to “virus”, the “d” to “disease”, and the “19” to the year it was first recorded. One of the biggest challenges of WHO in how to prevent and cure the said disease.

It was in 2019 when it was first recorded in Wuhan City in the province of Hubei but its outbreak was made known to the world in January 2020.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China left Wuhan City under a lock-down. More than 40,000 people were infected by the virus and at least 900 died in China.

Allegedly, the said disease came from bats pointing to the bat soup served in the market in Wuhan. Its symptoms are common – fever, shortness of breath, and cough.

The novel coronavirus outbreak in China did not only challenged the Chinese population but as well as the rest of the world. Several countries got confirmed cases of the nCoV.

The Philippines, the United States, France, Japan, and Hong Kong are among those with positive cases.

The world is still fighting against the COVID-19. Thousands of people are still being treated in the mainland China and there are still a huge number of patients under investigation (PUIs) in other countries.
