Maria Luisa Varela from Philippines wins Miss Planet International 2023. In spite of all the controversy of Miss Planet International Philippines the results are good. Varela, 26, was appointed Miss Planet Philippines earlier this year by national director Michael “Miki” Antonio. The appointment came under fire after Budol’s national director Wilbert Tolentino posted on social media that he still holds the “sole authority to appoint a representative for the country.”
Miss Planet International 2023 held January 29 at the Koh Pick Theater in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Zimbabwe’s Jemima Mandemwa placed first runner-up, while Ono Aya of Japan was second runner-up.
